CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Getaway of the Corcapsia Incursion
Age: 3 million~ years old. Ish.
Canon: Transformers IDW

World Description: TF Wiki

History: Getaway’s Wiki Page

Death: Eaten alive after losing every single thing he could possibly lose.

What are your plans for this character in-game? Getaway is not a good person and being eaten alive will not change him into a good person. However, he expressed some remorse at the very end, and being somewhere where no one really knows him might allow him to be slightly less of a shitty person.

What aspects of this game and/or its setting are you most interested in having this character engage with? I have a friend here who convinced me to join.

How does your character generally get along with other people? Getaway is a very social and personable kind of person and can get along with pretty much anyone if he feels he has to. The fact that he can be very charming is why he gets away with so much nonsense to begin with.

What is your character's mental state upon entering the game? Very cranky and mean-spirited. Might get better about it when he finally accepts that he didn’t accomplish a single thing he wanted to while alive and died being hated by everyone he’s ever met.

Skills/Abilities:

Transformation: Getaway transforms into a sleek muscle car.
Escapologist: Being so legendarily good at escaping anything is why when he was imprisoned by the Lost Light, they went overboard and did every possible thing to make sure Getaway could never get out. Not even Getaway can escape after having all his limbs removed, his jaw taken off, his body suspended in a harness, and his spark locked in a cage that shocked him if he moved in a little bit.
Charming: Word of god says that Getaway was considered to be one of the most attractive people on the Lost Light. He’s also a talented liar and manipulator, using abuser tactics to isolate and create a dependency with a bot called Tailgate so that he could trick Tailgate into getting himself killed.

Flaws/Weaknesses:

Getaway has many issues that drive him to do what he does, but his absolute major one is that he is an MTO (Made to Order). MTO soldiers were in great demand during the war and MTOs are named after the specific battle they were born to fight (Hence Getaway of the Corcapsia Incursion). All MTOs are Constructed Cold, a method of being born that is not considered to be “natural” by particularily bigoted Cybertronians. Like other MTOs, Getaway suffers from severe imposter syndrome and often feels like a “cheap knockoff” of a real Cybertronian. He wants to believe that he is worth something so badly, that he has a great destiny, that he was willing to sacrifice everything and anyone to bring him one step closer to greatness. A psychologist tells Getaway’s ally, Atomizer, that he believes that Getaway is suffering from severe narcissism and a crippling imposter syndrome amongst other issues that come together and create a big disaster of a person.

For all his charm, intelligence, and talent for lying, Getaway, in the end, had failed at everything he had tried to do and had ruined countless lives before being eaten alive by scraplets.

Also word of god says that Getaway speaks in a New Zealand accent.

Personality:

When Getaway was first introduced, he came across as a charming, charismatic, and cool escape artist who made a nice addition to the main cast. Though he wasn’t the same level of nerd the rest of the main cast was, he was able to get along with most of them and was included in a fair number of their adventures. He wasn’t quite as flexible about suspending his belief as everyone else was, as he became quickly exasperated by things if they became too ridiculous or if things spiraled too far out of control. Despite that, the “main” cast aboard the Lost Light, the name of the ship they were all on, liked and trusted him.

It’s because of this trust that when Getaway started showing what could be read as romantic interest in Tailgate, no one was really all that worried. He showered Tailgate with attention and compliments, and preyed heavily on the minibot’s deepest insecurities and weaknesses. He monopolized all of Tailgate’s time with activities, slowly and gently separating him from Cyclonus, Tailgate’s closest friend and love interest. He told Tailgate lies about Cyclonus finding him embarrassing to be around, and how he, Getaway, would never think such a thing. He kept this up until he felt that Tailgate was sufficiently dependent on wanting his attention and affection and then he made his move: He started to perform what Getaway said were the Conjunx Endura rites, which is the human equivalent of marriage. Getaway gave Tailgate a set of needle fingers, and told Tailgate that as an act of devotion towards him, he had to sneak up on a sleeping Megatron and “inject” him with a virus that would destroy the evil in him. The plan was that Megatron would wake up to the sight of needles, one of the few things the old warlord was afraid of, and react by killing Tailgate outright.

Real love won out in the end. Tailgate was saved and Getaway was set up in a prison not even he, a master escapologist, could escape. When asked later by a psychologist if anyone ever told him that what he did to Tailgate was “predatory”, he simply replies with “Only as a compliment.”

These actions show that Getaway was a wolf in sheep’s clothing this entire time. Underneath the charming facade is a ruthless liar who would stop at nothing, would sacrifice everything, to accomplish his goals. So great a liar is he that he can even convince himself that he is doing what he does for the greater good, and not because he has a self-imposed vision of grandeur.

Items: Getaway still has his nudge gun. This is a gun that, when fired into the head of another Cybertronian, will make them vulnerable to any suggestion. Getaway often uses this to make others forget conversations they had together.
